July 4th for Less

Hello everyone! I haven’t been shopping much lately because my husband and I have been on a strict budget. My summer wardrobe feels boring because most of my pieces have been in my closet for a couple of years! I have been itching for a little retail therapy, and I’d love to tell you about my recent finds at the most unexpected place!

Recently one of my Instagram friends Melissa posted about a cute dress that she got at Walmart for $12 so I decided to check out their clothing and accessory sections. I loaded my girls up with our weekly grocery list on Sunday and we spent hours in the dreaded Walmart! They had several great pieces! I loved the tassel necklaces and earrings, most priced at $5 and under. I found several other things that made it home with me, my favorite being this red dress that was only $12.94!

I found this fun red, white & blue tassel scarf at Walmart last summer for $5, I believe. I love holidays for lots of reasons, but theme dressing is at the top of the list. Since last summer tassels have been so popular and when I saw this scarf (and the price!) I knew I had to have it!! Summer scarves are hard to wear in the Florida heat and humidity, but if I’m going to be indoors I will choose style over sensibility.

My shoes are recent from JustFab! I love them because of the versatility and the wedge isn’t too tall. Chasing kids around in tall heels and wedges is too hard these days! They are even pretty comfortable! I used to look for lots of fun, wild prints when buying shoes but in recent years I tend to buy shoes that I can wear with lots of different outfits.

In closing, I would like to say that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to look cute! You can find fun, versatile, great wardrobe staples like this red dress at places that you wouldn’t expect (Walmart!) so always be on the look-out! Good luck!

Introduction!

Hello everyone! I wanted my first blog entry to be an introduction so you all can learn a little about me! My name is Nicole Green and I am a life long Florida resident. I live here with my husband Lindsay and two beautiful girls Daphne & Lilly.I’m a self proclaimed caffiene addict, lover of wine and food and enjoy lazy days with my family!

A couple of years ago I started sharing outfit posts on my Instagram as a creative outlet.   My love of fashion has been a prominent part of my life since elementary school. As the daughter of a single mom on a limited income, I learned how to shop sales and clearance racks! I want to share my love of cute, budget friendly clothes along with my home decor and parenting moments.

As of about 6 months ago, I have felt the drive to lead a more purpose driven life. I feel stagnant in my career and need a way to feel that I am leaving a positive impact on the world. Through many hours of consideration, I have decided that this is how I am going to start my journey! I hope you enjoy reading about my life as TheStyledMom.
